Follow along as State Journal cartoonist Phil Hands draws a cartoon comparing beer sales at with coach Luke Fickell’s salary. Thanks to the State Journal for publishing “A dose of deregulation,” about Lee Zeldin’s plans to roll back environmental protections at the Environmental Protection Agency. Maybe “thanks” is the wrong word. But I appreciate the paper keeping readers informed about what the Trump administration is doing. The vast majority of climatologists agree we’re on track for more than 3 degrees Celsius of warming by 2100. Experts say this would result in flooded coastlines, heat and droughts, making much of the world uninhabitable. Many millions of people would become climate refugees. If the Trump administration has its way, we will experience more warming still. So what’s a poor boy or girl to do? I think more than ever we need to join with like-minded people for collective action. Many groups are working to mitigate the worst effects of climate change. By using what time and talents we have with others doing the same, we can make a difference.
