The school community of Forncett CEVA Primary School welcomed Ben Goldsborough, the Labour MP for South Norfolk, for a special visit focused on climate change and sustainability. Callum Richards, the Executive Headteacher of Carleton Rode & Forncett St Peter CEVA Primary Federation wrote this piece for the school newsletter and shared it with the Diocese. “Our school had the privilege of welcoming Ben Goldsborough MP for a special visit focused on climate change and sustainability. The children were eager to share their learning and ideas with him, and he was equally enthusiastic to engage in discussions about how we can all work together to protect our planet. Ben visited each class, where children were immersed in various activities exploring the impact of climate change and ways to live more sustainably. From hands-on projects to thought-provoking discussions, the pupils showcased their passion and creativity in addressing one of the most pressing issues of our time. A highlight of the visit was when Sapphire Class had the opportunity to quiz Ben on his role as an MP and how he can support efforts to combat climate change. The children asked insightful and challenging questions, demonstrating their deep understanding and commitment to making a difference. Ben responded thoughtfully, encouraging them to continue using their voices to drive positive change. In a particularly proud moment for our school, the pupils presented Ben with a climate action charter they had created, outlining key steps they believe should be taken to protect the environment.
