Videographer Peter Sinclair will present on climate change and renewable energy at Ferris State University on Sept. 24. Peter Sinclair, a videographer who specializes in issues of climate change and renewable energy solutions, will be presenting at Ferris State University on the topic of climate change. The event is 6:30 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the David Eisler Center Ballroom, 805 Campus Drive and is free to the public. Sinclair has traveled to many counties in Michigan researching the economics of those who have solar and wind farms. Advertisement Article continues below this ad “This is a pertinent topic right now as individual counties must come up with a plan by November to follow the state law for the future goal of achieving 50% of renewable energy by 2030,” Karen Turnbull, president of Friends of Mecosta County, said in a news release. “Currently, Michigan utilities use approximately 15% renewable energy. Michigan utilities currently import 100% of the coal, 92% of the natural gas, and 97% of the oil and petroleum products used to generate energy, which drains over $18 billion a year from the state economy.
